Lekie elites distance themselves from Martinez Zogo’s funeral program

Elites of Lekie Division, where the late journalist Martinez Zogo came from, have distanced themselves from a program that has been circulating online, which scheduled his burial for April 1.

They said they are still waiting for a decision from competent authorities as far as the Martinez Zogo case is concerned.

“We learned through social networks of a funeral program for Mr. Martinez ZOGO, Channel Manager of the urban radio “Amplitude FM”, whose lifeless body was found on January 22, 2023, in the suburbs of Yaoundé,” Felix Zogo one of the elites said in a release.

He furthered: “None of the people quoted in the context of these statements, has neither participated directly or indirectly nor given the slightest approval to the development and publication of the program currently in circulation.”

The release equally noted that the organisation of the funeral of the late Martinez Zogo remains in the hands of his family.

This comes shortly after Martinez Zogo’s lawyer, Calvin Job, in a release emphasized that any attempt to remove Zogo’s corpse from the Yaounde General Hospital mortuary for burial without his wife’s authorization will be an insult to the late journalist.
