Organisée vendredi dernier, la cérémonie de plantation d’arbres à l’occasion de la Journée internationale des forêts a été réalisée avec le soutien de la délégation régionale des forêts et de la faune de l’Adamaoua.
Cette initiative vise à renforcer chez les jeunes l’esprit de préservation de la biodiversité et de l’environnement. Une trentaine d’arbres ont été plantés dans l’enceinte. L’objectif est de planter 500 arbres d’ici mai prochain dans le département de la Vina.
La cérémonie, présidée par Christian Joseph Biloa Abouma, secrétaire général de la région de l’Adamaoua, représentant personnel du gouverneur Kildadi Boukar, a vu la participation des agents des eaux et des forêts.
Djieukam Amabo Florance, déléguée régionale des Forêts et de la Faune de l’Adamaoua, en a profité pour sensibiliser la population sur la coupe abusive des arbres dans la région. En raison de l’effet de l’explosion démographique dans la région, une sonnette d’alarme a été tirée.
Les élèves ont été invités à participer activement à la préservation de l’écosystème et de la biodiversité. C’est le combat que ces élèves doivent désormais mener pour stopper l’avancée du désert dans cette partie septentrionale du Cameroun.
