Instead of tomorrow, the election for a new City Mayor of Limbe will be held on Friday March 04 at 2pm.
The election has been postponed at the last minute by the SDO for Fako who convened the extraordinary session to chose a new Mayor.
Postponing the election, the Senior Divisional Officer for Fako failed to advance any reasons, but said he was sorry for the inconveniences.
The election it should be noted, would still fall within the 60-day period stipulated by law for the voting of a new leader in case of death of the City Mayor.
Ahead of the elections, different interested parties have been galvanising support and pulling strings.
Among the frontrunners, is Woka Daniel of Limbe II, endorsed by the CPDM Fako 1B section bureau.
Despite the ongoing negotiations and lobbying, many believe the final decision would be Yaoundé’s to make.
