Journalists in Limbe, South West Region, today paid their last respects to veteran journalist, Sama George, who died October 30, 2024.

Accompanied by the National President of the Association of English-speaking Journalists (CAMASEJ), Jude Viban, and Veteran Journalist, Charlie Ndichia, the journalists participated in a funeral mass at New Town, Limbe, this morning.

They mourned the journalist for his humility, dedication to the profession and his positive influence over younger reporters.

“He will be remembered for his commitment to nurturing the next generation of media professionals and for his pioneering vision in the field of journalism,” wrote CAMASEJ Communication Officer, Wanchia Cynthia.

“Camasej extends its heartfelt condolences to his family and colleagues,” she added.

Sama George invested decades of his life in journalism and worked for several media houses, including The Star Newspaper, Eden Radio Limbe, Ocean City Radio Limbe, and Cam 1 TV Limbe.

He died at the Limbe Mile One Hospital on Wednesday, October 30, after a prolonged illness.

He will be buried at his native village of Baligham, North West Region, on November 16.
