Limbe SDF District Chair Says Honorary Key Saga Is A Disgrace!

The SDF District Chair in Limbe, has said no letter has been sent to the National Chairman so far regarding an alleged report that the Paramount Ruler designate of Limbe, asked Ni John Fru Ndi to return the Honorary key of the City of Limbe.

The key was handed to Ni John Fru Ndi by HRH John Elufa Manga Williams, as the former visited the town of friendship June 13th 2019.

Godden Zama, SDF Limbe District Chair who has frowned at recent calls from Limbe chiefs for the honorary key to be returned said: “They must collect the key the Paramount Ruler gave to the SDO before making such demands from the Chairman…”

He said the ongoing saga triggered by the chiefs does not speak well of the city of Limbe. “It has been shameful and disgraceful. It is not a good representation of the great city of Limbe.

In a latest development, the Paramount Ruler designate of Limbe, HRH John Elufa Manga Williams is said to have asked Ni John Fru Ndi to return the Honorary key he handed to the latter.

This follows a strongly sworded statement in which chiefs of the Limbe Chiefdom called for the withdrawal of the Key handed to Ni John Fru Ndi, by the Paramount Chief elect of Limbe over one week ago.

In the wake of the strong resistance from Limbe Chiefs, the SDF Chairman had told Mimi Mefo Info that, as an honorary citizen of Limbe, he deserves to own the key.
“Those who think I do not deserve the key to Limbe should come to Ntarikon and take it.The chiefs did not give me the key. For now, I know myself as an honorary citizen of Limbe,” Fru Ndi said.

The Chairman of the Social Democratic Front added that he can only hand over the key if the Paramount Ruler himself, asks him to return it.
“…I can only accept to go to Limbe and hand over the key if the paramount chief elect who gave me the key ask for it….”

Sources in Limbe say the Limbe Paramount Ruler elect has been fined for handing the key to Fru Ndi.

The question which remains unanswered is if the SDF Chairman will accept to refund the key.
