A truck has overturned in Quarter Eleven, Mbanga, in the Mungo Division, Littoral Region of Cameroon, while attempting to dump a heap of sand.
The lone victim was the driver who survived, the December 02nd, 2021 accident.
According to Equinoxe TV, inhabitants of the quarter, while complaining that their roads are in very bad conditions, blamed the accident on bad roads.
A female resident said, “I cannot say the accident is the driver’s fault because when the truck climbed here (pointing at an angle of the road), it lost balance. While trying to dump the sand, it gradually began falling sideways because the roads are eroded and he was trying to avoid destroying the electric lines while raising the truck carriage”.
She added that “We thought someone will die. But luckily, no one died. All this is because of the road condition. If the roads were fine, the truck would have not lost its balance while climbing and subsequently, while pouring the sand.”
