Kum Jacob Che was taken from his home in Buea at 8:00pm by Gendarmes on the instructions of the assistant commander of the Gendarmerie Legion, Mimi Mefo info has learnt.
Our source who is a human rights lawyer said for no reason at all, Kum was arrested and handed to elements of the Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIR) who imprisoned him in Tole.
“No investigation was carried out until after six weeks that he was released to the gendarmes,” our source said.
We’re told that he was accused of going to a funeral of a separatist fighter in Muea, then later that he imported a container of arms.
No evidence has yet been established but Kum Jacob Che was blindfolded for 10 days and left in handcuffs.
He is currently undergoing treatment at an undisclosed facility.
