Locals accuse separatists of abducting CBC Field Pastor and two others in Bum

By David Atangana

The Field Pastor of the Cameroon Baptist Convention, (CBC), Bum, and two others have been abducted, MMI has gathered.

Reverend Ngo Noah, was abducted alongside, Dom Samuel, Quarter Head of Mbamlu, and, Tam Apolo, a teacher.

The incident occurred Thursday, July 7, 2022, in Fonfuka, headquarters of Bum subdivision in Boyo division of the North West region.

“Amba boys stormed the village at 4am today and took away the field pastor, a teacher by the name Tam Apolo and the quarter head of Mbamlu village,” a local told MMI.

According to information gathered, the abductors gave no reason for whisking them away.

Their whereabouts remain unknown.

The population however suspects kidnapping for ransom which has become the main activity for local separatist fighters in the locality.

“When they kidnap, they ask for ransom, torture, and release later”, a local said adding that, “…this is the 3rd time they are kidnapping the teacher in question.”

Since the degeneration of the Anglophone Crisis into an armed conflict, many miscreants have exploited the security situation to carry out wanton acts of kidnap, torture, and harassment of civilians, hiding behind the guise of fighting for independence.
