“Major incident” leaves Cameroon towns in blackout

There is a major blackout across some towns in Cameroon. From Bamenda to Buea, Douala, Yaoundé, just to name a few, locals say there is an unexplained powercut.

Responding to the incident, electricity distribution company, ENEO says power was “… disrupted by a major incident on the transmission network”.

“Thank you for your patience, as SONATREL works to restore power, together with Eneo Teams. We will keep you informed of developments,” it added.

Today’s power cut follows some power outage incidents at live games in the ongoing African Nations Championship, CHAN.
