The Senior Divisional Officer, SDO, of Mezam Division in the North West Region of Cameroon says an investigation is midway to unravel the source of two separate fire incidents registered at Presbyterian Secondary School Mankon at the weekend.
Simon Emile Mooh, while visiting the PSS Mankon campus Sunday, January 24th, 2021 told the press that “… we have a list of suspected students that are probably sympathizing with terrorists”.
To the administrator, the eight suspected students earlier failed to show up at a disciplinary council at PSS Mankon where they were summoned.
Though the names of the students have not been disclosed, officials say most of the suspects were absent from Church Service Sunday, January 24th, an action considered out of place and a crime in a mission school like PSS Mankon.
A source at PSS Mankon has hinted that some students summoned at the disciplinary council had promised to attack the campus even before the fire incidents on Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd, 2021.
The Presbyterian education secretary has not given authentic facts and figures of damages incurred. Despite this, a release signed by the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, PCC, says three dormitories were affected with the property of students damaged.
