Makondo: Seven dead, eight others injured in road accident

At least seven persons are reported to have died, and eight others are injured in a ghastly accident in Makondo, Littoral Region of Cameroon.

The tragic incident occurred precisely in Ngwei, on October 15, 2022.

The Sanaga Maritime Senior Divisional Officer, Yvan Abondo, in a release indicated that the accident was caused by a “… frontal collision between the said vehicles following a bad overtaking coupled with an excess of speed, thereby starting up a fire.”

According to the release, the names of some victims were obtained. They include: “MBANGA Céline Clarisse, NGO MBOG Pauline, OMBE Christian. OSLIE, ” while three remained unidentified.

As for the survivors who were later on rushed to the Edea Regional Annex Hospital, their names were revealed as, “ABU KARIM, KAMDEM Samuel, MVONDO Alain, NGA ESSOMBA, BILOA ZOA Epse TSIMI, ZOA Sédouane, NDJANA NDJANA Armand and EDO Evan Mathieu.”

The Senior Divisional Officer extended condolences to the families concerned, and cautioned road users strictly to observe the rules of the Highway.
