Cameroon’s veteran defender, Rigobert Song has received a special honour from the Malian Football Federation.
The former Indomitable Lions captain was a special invitee of the Malian Football Federation to the 60th Edition of the Malian Cup final at the Modibo Keita Stadium last Sunday.
There were several other football icons from Africa who were also invited like El Hadj Diouf from Senegal, Ibrahim Thiam and Bassala Toure.
On the sidelines of this final, the Malian Football Federation awarded Rigobert Song a certificate of merit for his immense contribution to the development of football in Cameroon and Africa.
The Cameroonian was indeed appreciative of his honour and used his official Twitter account to thank the Malian Football Federation for their recognition of his contribution to the growth of the game on the African continent.
