Mamfe: Flooding leaves over one hundred persons homeless

At least one hundred people including women and children have been rendered homeless in Banya, a village in Mamfe, Manyu Division in Cameroon’s South West Region.

The flooding, caused by heavy downpour began yesterday, Thursday August 11th, 2022.

“It was a rainy day all through yesterday and around 11:00 pm water began flooding people houses,” a source told MMI.

He added that: “… many persons have been rendered helpless and homeless. Properties destroyed, houses covered by water everywhere.”

Over 30 homes were swept away by the floods with over a hundred persons left stranded.
