Yaounde: Man amputates wife’s leg in fight over spaghetti

A shocking story is told of a woman who has had her leg amputated after being seriously assaulted by her husband over spaghetti.

The victims, reports say, is 23-year-old Akono Sabine Mabelle

This latest case of domestic violence against women by their spouses has prompted angry reactions from feminists and other notable personalities to call for more action from the government against gender based violence.

Gender activists and popular Cameroonian politician, Alice Sadio has called on the government to do something to bring abusive spouses to justice with such actions becoming more recurrent.

“A specialised body must be created by the government to isolate and heal these psychopaths whose preferred vice is to suffocate their spouses,” recommends Alice Sadio on her Facebook page.

Alice Sadio also adds that the special unit must also be responsible for tracking down such cases of domestic violence and bringing them to order.
