A man is currently being detained at the Baleghang Gendarmerie in Cameroon’s West region for exhuming the corpse of his later father.
Longsti Polin, reports say, returned from Congo where he was and would later commit the act on December 5.
Realizing the corpse of Lontchi Emmanuel, who died in 2014 had been exhumed, the perpetrator’s sister is said to have alerted gendarme elements who had her brother arrested after preliminary investigations.
The suspect is said to have told the officers he suffers from dementia which causes him to act abnormally at times.
Many however believe his act was motivated by persons who needed the bones for malicious purposes.
The West region, it should be recalled, is not new to strange happenings. Weeks back, a young boy who reportedly jumped into a well was seen hale and hearty days later after all efforts to retrieve his body failed.
To date, many doubts remain over how he did it.
