Man escapes death after receiving ‘snake’ beatings from mob in Douala

A man accused of theft has missed death after being rescued by the forces of law and order.

The individual accused of stealing a motorbike at shell village, Bilongué in Douala, sources say attempted to escape mob justice and was being chased by bike riders.

He later ran out of luck when they caught up with him at a place called entrée Bille, where he was caught and beaten.

“There were 2 policemen at the scene but they were powerless in front of the crowd,” a source says.

“He was transported to the nearest health center at the point of death” he adds.
