An eighty- four year old man whose name we got as Metuge Victor Kalle is said to be awaiting execution in Kupe Manenguba division of the South West region after he was accused of practising witchcraft.

Our sources say the octogenarian is frail, weak and dying gradually after he has reportedly undergone several forms of physical and psychological torture and inhumane treatment in the hands of armed men believed to be ambazonia fighters.

Despite his poor and failing health condition, the victim has not had access to medical attention since the month of May 2019, we learned from sources on the ground.

Shocking pictures of Metuge Victor, he has been warned by Amba boys not to leave the village.

He has his fate in the hands of a group of Anglophone militiamen. The father of twelve has been placed under ‘house arrest’ in his native Ekona Banjoh village, Banghem sub division in Kupe Maneguba division of the South West region of Cameroon.
Reported to the ambazonia boys by his nephew, a certain Metuge Antoinell, Metuge Victor Kalle is being accused of killing two children through witchcraft. An accusation he has denied on several occasions to no avail.

According to a family source, Metuge Victor was first abducted and taken to the camp of ambazonia boys in the village in the month of May. While there, he spent days under severe forms of torture. For instance, the Ambazonian fighters burnt rubber dropping the hot aluminum-like liquid on his body, relatives narrated to Mimi Mefo Info.

Metuge Victor at the moment lives in his house in Ekona Banjoh but is not permitted to leave the village. He has made failed attempt twice to escape for safety but at each attempt, he is captured, tortured, threatened with death and forced to stay in the village. Children and family members say because of the hostilities of the amba boys, they cannot access the village to rescue their father and bbrother. He has not even been allowed to seek medical care out of the village which is lacking in health infrastructure. “I tried to take him to the hospital, but they sent him back that he is not leaving the village,” a family member disclosed.

On the question if the pro-independence fighters have demanded any ransom for the possible ‘release’ of Metuge Victor, a family source says nothing has been demanded. They how ever mentioned that “the boys had earlier demanded the sum of one hundred thousand francs cfa not as ransom but money for them to carry out their findings on the accusation leveled against him.”

For now, the victim has informed the family that his execution has been program for next Wednesday July 31, 2019 following claims by ambazonia boys that he is guilty of killing two children of his nephew.

Family members have been traumatized living in a permanent state of uncertainty of what will become of the father of twelve, twenty four grand children and one great grandchild.

Ekona Banjoh: Ambazonia ‘courts’, tries, tortures and kills
Ambazonia boys in Ekona Banjoh village reliable sources say no longer confront military men in the fight for the restoration of Ambazonia statehood. They practically live in the village handling all administrative, judicial and security issues.

“It has been over a year now the amba boys don’t fight against the military as it is done in other localities in the South West. They stay only in the village controlling all activities and terrorizing villagers with impunity”. An anonymous source told Mimi Mefo Info.

At the judicial and security levels, seven women and a man were beaten and tortured to dead in the month of June alone in a nearby village called Eboko Banjoh on accusations of witchcraft and other wrong doing in the village.

The amba boys are said to have bypassed laws of the land on how such cases are handled.
At the moment, inhabitants of the community live in permanent fear given that ambazonia boys easily draw fallacious conclusions on who is guilty in a case and proceed with torture that leads to death.
Efforts to get ambazonia boys in Ekona Banjoh village react to such strong allegations have so far yielded no fruits. Locals told Mimi Mefo Info that:

“Those guys in western bakossi who are amba soldiers don’t concentrate on the struggle anymore. They are focus on village n family issues.” He added that: “If you have a problem with some one or anyone accuses u of witchcraft, they will beat u up and roast your body with plastics and so many old people have died through this torture. Metuge was beaten alongside with many others. Some died in the process.”
