Man traps, kills neighbour’s mouse totem in Bandjoun

A man is said to have captured and killed his neighbor’s mouse totem in his shop in Bandjoun, West Region of Cameroon.

The shopowner known simply as ‘Abdou’ is a renowned naturopath in the town of Bandjoun.

In order to expand his business, he decided to open a new store specifically for health products made from natural plants, in the locality of Tessé.

He hired a young man who worked there. The store was doing great but for the fact that Abdou consistently noticed a huge discrepancy between the products sold and the reciepts available.

Suspecting the manager of this shop of mishandling the receipts, he began by reducing his salary.

But the latter denied everything. Indicating that he had never taken a single CFA franc without prior authorization.

Monday, July 11, Abdou decided to clear up the matter once and for all.

He summoned his employee and asked him to tell the whole truth because he intends to “spoil” anyone responsible for the theft.

His employee remained entrenched in his position and encouraged him in the option taken.

After pouring a few potions in different corners of the shop, Abdou now decided to spend the night there.

Around 4am, we learn, that hidden in a corner, he saw a mouse appear. The rodent stood out with its suspicious posture. Barely entered, the mouse directed himself to where the receipts of the shop were kept and opened the trunk.

As it was about to take the money that was in the box, Abdou sneaked out of his hiding place and jumped on it.

Around 5 a.m., he summoned some of his neighbors to whom he told the surreal story he had experienced. The latter advised him to burn the mouse. Which was done.

Except that as the fire spreads over the animal, it was screaming like a man. It was actually the voice of his nearest neighbour.

Despite this, Abdou did not stop. After the animal was burned, his neighbor was found on the bed with serious burns.

Two days later, he passed away. According to our sources, he was buried on Friday, July 16, 2022.

This is not the first such story to occur in the West Region.
