Manchester United score two late own goals to draw 2-2 with Sevilla in their Europa League match at Old Trafford.

Sevilla came from behind to draw 2-2 with Manchester United in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final at Old Trafford.

Erik ten Hag’s team dominated the first half, leading by two goals at the intermission thanks to a Marcel Sabitzer double.

There was little indication that a draw was on the way until the final 10 minutes, when Tyrell Malacia scored an own goal off a Jesus Navas cross.

After Lisandro Martinez suffered a non-contact injury after United had made all of their substitutions, they were forced to finish the game with 10 men.

In the 92nd minute, Sevilla equalized with another United own goal, this time a Youssef En-Nesyri header that deflected off Harry Maguire and past David de Gea.

With Raphael Varane also leaving with a suspected injury and Bruno Fernandes suspended due to yellow card accumulation, Ten Hag will have to make difficult line-up decisions for the second leg in Spain next week.

Erik ten Hag found it hard comprehend his club’s run of bad luck after halftime. But, ignoring that, he conceded that his squad was wasteful.

“We had the game in our hands and we should’ve made it 3 or 4-0, the game was totally on us,” he said to BT Sport.

“Then there were some unlucky injuries, and we had to make subs because of injuries like Rapha (Varane) at halftime.”We also had to substitute Anthony Martial because it was his first start after his injury, followed by Antony and Bruno (Fernandes) because they received yellow cards. We had to make several subs before losing control and turning off.”Then there was another sad moment with Martinez, and we only had 10 (players) and conceded a second own goal, which was unfortunate.

“We have to learn, kill the game, but everything is open for the second leg.”

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag did not provide any updates on the injury to his two center-backs.
