Manchester United Thump West Ham 3-0 at Old Trafford, Onana Keeps Clean Sheet

Manchester United secured a comfortable 3-0 victory over West Ham United at Old Trafford on Sunday, extending their winning streak to three games in all competitions and climbing into sixth place in the Premier League table. It was a dominant performance from the Red Devils, with young stars Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho both bagging braces to leave David Moyes’ men still searching for a win away from home against United.

Despite West Ham controlling much of the first half, it was Hojlund who stole the show with a moment of individual brilliance. The Danish striker shifted onto his right foot and unleashed a powerful shot that flew past Lukasz Fabianski into the back of the net. This scoreline remained heading into the break, leaving the Hammers with faint hope of a comeback.

However, any chance of a West Ham resurgence was quickly extinguished in the second half. First, Emerson Royal spurned a glorious opportunity to equalize, and moments later, Garnacho made him pay dearly. The talented winger danced past the Brazilian full-back before firing home with the help of a deflection, doubling United’s lead.

Garnacho wasn’t done there. With West Ham pushing for a goal, Scott McTominay intercepted a loose pass from Declan Rice and found the young Argentine on the right. Garnacho made no mistake, slotting home his second of the game and effectively ending the contest.

This victory marks a significant moment for Manchester United. They have now won three consecutive games in all competitions for the first time since October, and even more impressively, they have done so while scoring at least three goals in each match – a feat not achieved since January 2023.

For West Ham, the defeat extends their winless run to six games in all competitions and leaves them languishing in seventh place. David Moyes’ record at Old Trafford remains woeful, as he has now failed to win in 17 Premier League away games against the Red Devils.

The win puts United in a strong position to push for a Champions League spot, and they will face another crucial test next week when they travel to Aston Villa. West Ham, meanwhile, will look to get back on track when they host Arsenal at the London Stadium.

This match served as a reminder of the exciting young talent emerging at Manchester United, with Hojlund and Garnacho showcasing their potential on the biggest stage. West Ham, on the other hand, will need to find some answers quickly if they are to avoid getting dragged into a relegation battle.
