Marafa’s health deteriorating rapidly

Many persons are getting concerned about the state of health of former Secretary General at the Presidency and erstwhile Minister of Territorial Administration, Marafa Hamidou Yaya, now serving jail term at the Kondengui Maximum Prison.

Marafa has reportedly been tested positive for Coronavirus and is currently hospitalized at the Yaoundé Central Hospital.

Speaking in an interview with Popular French based Magazine, Jeune Afrique, Marafa Hamidou Yaya revealed that he has been suffering from respiratory problems.

He also criticised Government’s continuous insistence on keeping him in jail despite his worsening health conditions.

Taking into consideration how it ended up with late Professor Gervais Mendo Ze, many Cameroonians are fearful that the same fate may befall Marafa Hamidou Yaya if care is not taken.

Marafa Hamidou Yaya was sentenced to 25 years in prison in 2012 for the embezzlement of funds intended as a down payment for a presidential plane.
