Some very active personalities of the Ambazonia separatist movement, notably Mark Bareta and Ayaba Cho have denied accusations linking Separatist fighters to the latest invasion of Taraba state in neighboring Nigeria.

The alleged incursion is said to have been perpetrated on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, in the Takum Local Government Area of Nigeria that borders Donga Mantung and Menchum Divisions in the North West region, leaving some 11 dead, including a local leader.

On their Twitter handles, both Dr. Ayaba Cho and Mark Bareta denied the act and stated that the separatists had no reason to launch any attack on Nigeria.

Bareta added that Amba fighters have limited resources and cannot waste them in pursuit of another war with Nigeria.

While stating that, Ambazonians need Nigeria at this critical moment, hence cannot initiate havoc in the land, Mark said if such a scenario ever took place, “then it is a ploy between Cameroun and Buhari to target Ambazonians in Nigeria, or else, there are all lies”.

Mark Bareta continued: “Saying it’s the handy work of Ambazonian fighters, is a way through which the Cameroon government intends to evade its atrocities.”

While the Nigerian Newspaper, The Vanguard declared that the Local Government Chairman of Takum, Shiban Tikari, confirmed the attackers to be separatists, Mark Bareta rather implicated the Cameroonian military.

To him, the military comducted an attack on the same State in October 22nd, 2021, a report that is contained in some, like The Daily Post Newspaper in Nigeria.

Mark concluded that the perpetrator of the first invasion is the perpetrator of the recent invasion.
