More than one hundred persons in Tourou, a village in Mayo Tsanaga Division of Cameroon’s Far North Region have converge on Mokolo Sub-Division to protest against Boko Haram attacks.
“We are tired of suffering. We have not had peace because of Boko Haram. Enough is enough,” said the protesters.
Tourou has suffered several attacks from the group in the past weeks.
Two weeks ago, dozens were brutally murdered, houses destroyed and properties looted after Boko Haram militants stormed Tourou and launched a late night attack.
“They recently attacked a military camp at the border and took away guns and ammunitions. They use those weapons to attack poor and innocent civilians, and authorities are doing nothing about it,” our source who is one of the protesters told us.
At the time of this report, the irate Tourou residents were heading to the governor’s office to table their grievances.
