Mayo-Danay: Newly Appointed SDO Visits Tchatibali Industrial Powerhouse

Wednesday, January 7, 2026, will remain a significant date for the Mayo-Danay Division in the Far North Region. As part of his familiarization tour, the newly appointed Senior Divisional Officer, Mr. Garba Bakary, conducted a strategic visit to the regional office of SODECOTON in Tchatibali—an industrial flagship and economic pillar of the locality.

Welcomed by the SODECOTON Regional Head, Mr. Mahamadou Bah Manga, the SDO immersed himself in the inner workings of this emblematic cotton industry company.

From the weighing of seed cotton to ginning and baling for the international market, the administrative authority observed with keen interest the technical expertise and human commitment underpinning this value chain.

During the closing session, Prefect Garba Bakary commended the managerial rigor and strategic vision championed by SODECOTON’s Director General, Mr. Mohamadou Bayero Bounou.

He reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to supporting and securing the company’s operations, emphasizing its central role in combating poverty and reinforcing social stability.

This visit marks a strong signal of the particular attention the State is giving to SODECOTON, a key player in the economic and social development of Cameroon’s northern regions.
