The Mayor of Douala II Denise Fampou, has launched the 14th edition of the holiday jobs program for young people in the city. The program, which is funded by the municipality, will provide 387 young people with the opportunity to work in a variety of sectors, including street cleaning, health, and social welfare.
The program is designed to help young people gain valuable work experience and to learn new skills. It is also intended to help them develop a sense of civic responsibility and to contribute to the development of their community.
“The holiday jobs program is an important part of the municipality’s efforts to create opportunities for young people”. Mayor Fampou said
adding that “the program helps to prepare young people for the job market and that it also helps to keep them off the streets during the holidays”.
The holiday jobs program will run from July 25 to August 25. The young people who participate in the program will receive a stipend of 50,000frs CFA francs per month.
Mayor Fampou urged all young people who are interested in participating in the program to always apply early enough if they want to be selected. She said that the program is open to all young people who are between the ages of 15 and 35.
