Mayor of Bot-Makak arrested over embezzlement allegations

Following a complaint filed by the Minister of Finance, Louise Paul Motaze, the Mayor for Bot-Makak, a little town located in the Nyong & Kelle Division, Jean Pascal Nken Nemb was was reportedly arrested on February 23, 2021.

He was picked up by elements of the forces of law and order for allegedly Embezzling Public Funds during his former function as the Head of the Payroll Department at the Ministry of Finance.

Information also revealed that it was due to the complaint which was forwarded against the Mayor by the Finance Minister, Louise Paul Motaze that Pascal Nken Nemb lost his positive at the head of the payroll in the Ministry of Finance.

Upon arrest, the Mayor was detained in a cell at the Headquarters of the Special Criminal Court in Yaoundé, where he is still said to be presently.
