Mbanga: Soldier accused of killing 40-year-old lover

The corpse of 40-year-old Colette Titan will be laid to rest soon.

The customs officer, friends say, was murdered last Wednesday, November 18th.

A source close to her family says she had just returned from Cotonou, Benin where she traveled for a medical check-up.

“She flew back into the Douala International Airport and was supposedly picked up by her boyfriend believed to be a soldier with the Rapid Intervention Battalion, BIR, an elite unit of Cameroon’s army,” he explains.

Unfortunately, she never got home, leaving family and friends worried. The source says, “She was missing for about six days and her family was looking for her, trying to make contact. Last Tuesday, authorities of the Mbanga Council found her corpse.”

“It is alleged that the boyfriend, a BIR officer, killed her to collect a series of properties including land titles, home, and cars,” he adds.

The incident is said to have left her family heartbroken. The family, which believes Colette’s lover was responsible for her death, has since employed all means possible to seek justice.

“Kenneth Suh, the BIR officer has been arrested pending investigation,” Mimi Mefo Info was told.

At press time, however, the version of the suspect had not been told.
