Over 75 passengers including young and old persons have been left stranded in Mbouda, a town in the West Region of Cameroon after their driver and his assistant commonly known as motor boy were ‘unjustly’ arrested.

The passengers were on their way to Buea from Bamenda when they were interrupted by security control post.

“On our way, we meet an unrecognized control post in Mbouda,” a source narrated to MMI adding that the driver however, refused to ‘settle’ since he required an introduction and clarification.

“These two Gendarmes entered the bus and started harassing the driver, and holding the steering while the bus was in motion, putting the lives of 75 people at risk,” our source added.

The officers later contacted the Batcham Gendarmerie who arrived the scene — and arrested the driver and the motorboy. “We have been here since 12 am, all our efforts are in vain,” our source said.
