Dr. Joseph Olivier Mendoo is a Cameroonian scholar who has made history by becoming the first Cameroonian to graduate from Pekin University with a Ph.D. in Chinese.

He was also the only African in his graduating class, and he was awarded the Best Foreign Academician of the Year award.

Mendoo’s research focuses on China-Africa relations, and he is particularly interested in the role of language in these relations. He believes that language is a powerful tool that can be used to bridge cultural divides and promote understanding.

In addition to his academic achievements, Mendoo has also been active in promoting Chinese language and culture to others.

Mendoo’s accomplishments are an inspiration to young Cameroonians who are interested in pursuing a career in academia. He is a role model for what can be achieved through hard work and dedication.

“I am honored to be the first Cameroonian to graduate from Peking University with a Ph.D. in Chinese. I believe that this is a testament to the hard work and dedication of my teachers and classmates. I am also grateful for the support of my family and friends. I hope that my story will inspire other young Cameroonians to pursue their dreams. I believe that anything is possible if you set your mind to it,” Dr Mendoo said.

In addition to this achievement, Mendoo is also celebrated for having been made an ambassador for foreign students of the university.
