The Senior Divisional Officer for Meme, Chamberlin Ntou’ou Ndong has sealed the Presbyterian Church Kumba Town.
The information is contained in a release signed August 30, 2022.
The decision, according to the Meme SDO, was taken considering, “the persistent tension among the worshipers of Presbyterian Church of Kumba Town, The antagonism between two factions of the same congregation, notably the Presbyterian church of Kumba Town that led to occultism,” and “the necessity to maintain public order.”
According to article 2 of the order, “all activities within the premises (fence) of the Presbyterian Church-Kumba Town are therefore suspended until a lasting solution is found by the power that be, in accordance with the rules and regulations governing the said religious association.”
He concluded by urging the Divisional Officer of Kumba I and the Heads of Forces of Law and Order to implement the said order.
It remains uncertain how far the move will go to restore order and unity in the church.
