Military, Amba clash leaves 3 dead, many others injured in Akwaya

A military, Amba clash that took place in Akwaya Subdivision of the South West Region, claimed the lives of three persons, and left many others Injured.

According to reports, the clash occurred on August 17, 2022, precisely in Tinta, a Cameroonian locality bordering Nigeria.

The three deceased persons were severely injured and rushed to a health center where they later on, succumbed to their wounds.

The incident equally led to the destruction of several buildings, amongst which was the lone primary school of the locality.

“The crossfire, we further gleaned, led to the destruction of some houses in the locality. Among the destroyed houses, we gathered, was that hosting the lone Primary School in the village,” indicated The Guardian Post.

This also pushed several residents of the locality to flee into the bushes for safety.

However, MMI cannot independently attest if the three persons killed were innocent civilians or separatist fighters.
