Multiple cars have are stuck on the road linking the town’s of Kumba ajd Mamfe in Cameroon’s South West Region.
Sources say the road was blocked around the locality of Were following a military raid there. “… the military broke into houses and stole some items. This triggered a retaliation [from separatist fighters], leading to the blockade at mile 19,” one local explained.
In a similar happening, a military pickup was hit by an explosive device, leading to more gunfire and confrontation.
This has left hundreds of road users stranded along the road.
This compounds their challenge, given that there is little or no circulation along the stretch every Monday.
