One car belonging to the Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIR in French) has crashed. They were escorting the daughter of former president, Amadou Ahidjo, who is in the region for campaigns.
Aminatou Ahidjo just left the Mankon Fon’s palace and the vehicle fell out around Mile 7 police station in Bamenda.
Some of those who were part of the convoy had to escape for their lives for fear of the unknown.
The youngest daughter of the former president of Cameroon and Board Chair of the Yaoundé Congress Hall was in the region to back Paul Biya. She made her controversial entry into the CPDM in 2013 amid criticisms of how she betrayed her family who have been an open opponent of the regime.
The number of casualties is yet to be made public.
