A youth popularly known by the name “Nong” was fatally shot dead at the Mile 16 neighborhood in Buea, Chief Town of the South West Region.
The incident took place yesterday September 19, 2022, precisely around the Fraicer hotel.
Reports indicate that the military attacked a group of youths in this locality, known to be frequently visited by separatist fighters.
“They were sitting and smoking when the military stormed the place. When the military arrived, they tried to flee out of fear but one was fatally shot tldead,” a source told MMI.
This comes as one of multiple skirmishes recorded in the town over the past few days as separatist fighters declared a lockdown.
