MINAT Warns Paul Eric Kingue Against Violent Utterances, says Justice shall Hunt any Violence Manipulator

The Minister of Territorial Administration (MINAT), Paul Atanga Nji, has sent a stern warning to the Campaign Manager of the Cameroon Renaissance Movement (CRM), Paul Eric Kingue, to steer clear of any manipulative tendencies that will erupt to post elections violence. He sent his warning message, Friday October 5, 2018 in Yaounde.

According to the MINAT boss, during the recent outing of Paul Eric Kingue, he declared his candidate, Maurice Kamto, as the victor of the 2018 presidential elections, and that anything short of that could have post elections reparations, is despicable.

Minister Atanga Nji says such pronouncements go largely against the law governing the state of Cameroon.
“It is despicable that the campaign manager of one of the presidential candidates by name, Paul Eric, declared here in Yaounde that his candidate is the winner of an election that has not even been carried out. He even went ahead to declare violence should the results not match his aspirations. Such utterances are manipulative, and largely go against the law. I think that Cameroon is a state with laws, and anyone who arrogates the power of going against the laws, will be brought to book,” Atanga Nji warned.

The MINAT boss equally cited another statement from the CRM Campaign Manager, which he described as being sweeping. According to him, Paul Eric Kingue said, votes from the Northwest and Southwest Regions, shall not be considered giving that the regions a crisis that will compromise elections.

Paul Atanga Nji, said such utterances, only go a long way to separate the two regions from the country. He assured Cameroonians that all necessary security dispositions, have been put in place to guarantee the respect of all the election tenets.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Communication and government Spokesperson, Issa Tchiroma Bakary, said during the meeting that some political actors associated with foreign interests have set up groups of agitators to plan violent unrest, in case the results of the election are not in their favour.

He added that the government has taken all appropriate measures to prevent any act that may lead to violence and create a climate of disorder in every single part of the national territory.

“For those who are seemingly getting ready to cause such unrest, they should be prepared to assume full responsibility of the consequences thereof and be held accountable by the relevant institutions of the Republic. They should also know that, he who wants to govern
Cameroon, should first and foremost respect its institutions and laws. That is why, by attempting to organize chaos, they might end up being bitterly surprised, as Cameroonians of all stripes will dissociate themselves from such manoeuvres of manipulation, and destabilization of our beloved country. The plurality that characterizes the presidential election of October 7, 2018 is a proof – if that were still needed – of the great maturity and vitality of our democracy, which we must preserve at all times,” Tchiroma said.
