Mob kills alleged thief in Tiko

A presumed thief was been beaten to death by the population of Mondoni village, Tiko subdivision in the South West Region of Cameroon Monday, November 30, 2020.

In a video circulating on the social media, the said thief identified as Figbwa Richard Achi is accused by his killers of having attempted to steal a motorcycle.

In the video, one of the boys indicates that Richard Achi is a notorious bandit specialised in stealing commercial motorcycles in the South West to sell in remote villages in the Littoral Region.

Eyewitnesses say the abandoned body has been buried by workers of Tiko council.

Legal experts in Cameroon condemn jungle justice practiced by the population on suspected persons without possibilities to defend themselves.

Inhabitants of Tiko subdivision say armed robbery has been on the rise most especially at night as end of year festivities draw near.
