A man of about 34 identify as Vismack has be shot dead and his body set ablaze in a farm house in Ntumbe village situated some kilometres away from Nkambe in the restive North West region. The man a source says, was returning from the farm Wednesday January 29, 2020 when men in military uniforms accused him of feeding separatist fighters in the locality and later killed him.Vismack’s mother is said to have died months ago from bullet wounds sustained in the course of a crossfire between the military in “Tungadeh” village market.Coming barely over a week to the February 9 twin elections, the situation has further raised panic in the locality. Some inhabitants have been lamenting that activities of military men recently deployed in Donga Mantung division have worsened the security situation. The people say they are equally regretting the brutality meted on them by some separatist fighters and vigilante group members in the area.As the security situation raises fears in Nkambe sub division, posters of political parties running for the elections can be spotted in some public places. Despite this, no political rally has taken place in the area yet.Since the escalation of the crisis into an armed conflict, over 3000 have been reported and hundreds of houses and villages set ablaze. Locals have often blamed the military for extra judicial killings many of which they say occur during raids on their villages.Mimi Mefo Info.
