It is only a matter of time now before construction works for the “Mother of Humanity” monument begin on its chosen site in Kribi, Cameroon’s South Region.
Demarcation works have reportedly taken off on the site where the gigantic structure is expected to stand. It was carried out on May 30, 2021 under the watchful eyes of some local administrative authorities and the President of the Act of Random Kindness (ARK) Jammers Connection Africa (Promoters of the initiative).
The Mother of Humanity Monument is a Pan-African Monument offered as a gift to Africa from the people of the United States of America.
The monument will be 97 metres high, surrounded by 55 cultural houses representing all 55 African countries. The funding phase of the project has already been completed.
Meanwhile, the African and African-American architects to work on the project are expected to travel to Cameroon soon for the realisation of the project.
The statue itself has already been constructed and will be transported to Kribi from the U.S.A as a final piece to complete the project.
Upon completion, the Mother of Humanity Monument will be the tallest monument in Africa and the third in the world, only behind the Statue of Unity in India, and the Monument of Peter the Great in Russia.
The monument itself will be almost twice the height of the Statue of Liberty (The most famous statue in the world) in the U.S.A.
It is important to note that many African countries such as Ghana, Nigeria, Morroco and Nigeria had applied to host the “Mother of Humanity Monument” which was finally handed to Cameroon.
The project is expected to cost at least $200 Million and will be funded by the donations from African-American celebrities from the world of art, media, business and politics.
