Municipal And Legislative Elections: SDF Loses All But One Council In Littoral Region

The Social Democratic Front (SDF) will run Loum council; Moungo Division in the Littoral region in the next five years. The party overpowered the Cameroon People Democratic Movement (CPDM) and NMPC party of Paul Eric Kingue in the February 9th polls.

The Loum council remains the only council to be administered by the party headed by Ni John Fru Ndi in the Littoral region.

According to Guy Wouambo, incumbent Mayor of Loum council and SDF list leader in the municipal election, the people of Loum have accorded them another mandate judging from tremendous development activities they carried out in the last mandate.

” We realised some projects and there are others on the pipeline that we will continue during this mandate ” he adds while celebrating the victory of his party.

To some political commentators, the Social Democratic Front (SDF) has not only emerged weaker in the party’s stronghold in the North West and South West regions but throughout the national territory.
