The ‘Cage Fight’ between Zuckerburg and Musk is not happening!

It has been one of the most publicised “cage fights” of all time.

But it seems it is not happening after all.

Sunday saw additional online jabs between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk, two billionaires who are competitors in the social networking market. Musk, the inventor of Meta, claimed that Zuckerberg, the owner of X (previously Twitter), was not taking seriously a proposed charity cage bout between the two.

While using his social media site Threads, Zuckerberg stated, “I think we can all agree Elon isn’t serious and it’s time to move on.”

To paraphrase, “I offered a real date… Elon won’t confirm a date, then says he needs surgery, and now asks to do a practise round in my backyard instead.”

In a flash, Musk replied on X, the social media site he acquired last year and which was once known as Twitter. “Zuck is a chicken,” Musk wrote.

On Monday, Tesla’s CEO announced that he would be travelling to Silicon Valley.

“I can’t wait until tomorrow to knock on his door.” Musk made a reference to a well-known American fast food establishment famed for its chicken products after an X user implied that Zuckerberg was beginning to have second thoughts about the marriage. Musk wrote online that it would be cannibalism for him to eat at Chick-fil-A.

The two internet giants have engaged in a Twitter war about whether or not they should actually fight for charity.

Musk announced on Friday that the fight would take place in Italy, and on Saturday, Italian authorities confirmed that they had been in talks to host the “great charity event.”

Musk said, “I spoke to the PM of Italy and Minister of Culture,” alluding to Giorgia Meloni, Italy’s prime minister and minister of culture. They have settled on a truly legendary site.

In retaliation, Zuckerberg published a picture of himself shirtless while holding down an opponent in his “backyard octagon.”

Zuckerberg, a jiujitsu competitor and fan, declared, “I love this sport, and I’ve been ready to fight since the day Elon challenged me.”

I’ll let you know if he ever sets a firm date for us to meet. Please treat anything he says as if it hasn’t been agreed upon yet.

Gennaro Sangiuliano, Italy’s minister of culture, stated he had spoken with Musk about “how to organise a great charity event evoking history,” but added that any potential match “will not be held in Rome.”

An event featuring Musk, according to Sangiuliano, would bring in “a huge sum, many millions of euros, (that) will be donated to two important Italian paediatric hospitals.”

After Zuckerberg’s Meta released its Twitter-like Threads network in early July, the two tech tycoons, who have periodically jousted from afar, became direct competitors.

On Friday, Musk said he was considering “minor surgery” to fix a “problem with my right shoulder blade rubbing against my ribs.”
