Surgery for children less than 6 years with hearing loss has now been made possible in Cameroon, free of charge thanks to an association. The association has provided the cochlear implant, the hearing aid device that restores hearing in children. It is at the Yaoundé General Hospital.
A politician of Cameroonian origin has presented himself as a candidate to parliamentary elections in Burkina Faso. Apolin Aimé Ngankam has joined the political trail in Burkina Faso as his wife Monique Yeli Kam has set her sights on the presidential elections. The pair will be defending the interests of the Mouvement Pour la Renaissance du Burkina (MRB).
Canadian High Commissioner to Cameroon H.E Richard Bale has castigated the idea of separation as he calls it unrealistic. The High Commissioner said that in order for the crisis to an end, both the government and the Separatists will have to be flexible and give chances to compromise.
A former magistrate had many shocked as he admitted live on Canal 2 International that he practiced corruption during his time as magistrate. Former magistrate, Martin Bitond admitted that he had often taken bribes from clients and handed unfair judgements in court. As of the fourth round of the qualifications to the African Cup of Nations to be held in Cameroon in 2022, 6 countries including Cameroon have qualified for the competition. Others include: Senegal, Morocco, Algeria, Mali and Tunisia.
Guibai Gatama, Coordinator of “Movement 10 Millions de Nordistes” says the Movement is not a destabilising group for people of the Northern regions but a movement to fight for the rights of Northerners in Cameroon. Traders in Maiganga, Mbere Division in the Adamawa Region shutdown their shops today in protest. They are standing against what they call aggressive method of tax collection by officials . They have reported the issue to administrative officials.
