According to multiple reports, Lizette was returning from school when she was whisked into an uncompleted building and raped. Three of the culprits have been detained while a manhunt has been launched to arrest the two others.

Ousted leaders of the former ruling party in Ethiopia’s northern Tigray region, who have been on the run for more than three months, have issued conditions for peace talks. The statement was broadcast by TMH, a media house which is affiliated to the TPLF party. The conflict in Tigray erupted in early November 2020 when federal troops launched an offensive to oust the TPLF after its fighters captured military bases.
A Sudanese asylum seeker has been arrested in France on suspicion of stabbing the director of a refugee centre to death. Twenty-seven members of South Sudan’s president’s staff have contracted Covid-19, a presidential aide has confirmed.
