The Speaker of Cameroon’s National Assembly has urged Cameroonians to remain calm and await results of the audit into the use of Covid-19 funds.
He made the call while opening the June parliamentary session today.
“The Head of State has already ordered an audit of the management of funds for Covid-19 control n Cameroon. I beseech my fellow citizens to kindly wait for results of the audit by refraining from having … to judge some Cameroonians beforehand and expose them to mob justice” said the House speaker.
He further called on lawmakers to remain patriotic and safeguard national interest from persons willing to give the state a bad name.
“… Defend Cameroon against external forces that are bent on soiling the reputation of Cameroon,” he urged them.
The session of the Senate is set to open later today.
