Nchoubou-Mankon shooting aftermath, a man killed and abandoned by the road.

The body of a man is lying in front of Nchoubou junction in Mankon, Bamenda North West region of Cameroon. Locals only woke up this morning to discover the corpse.

Friday night, violent gunshots were heard in the area. “We had to retire home earlier for fear of being targeted,” said a source told Mimi Mefo Info.

“After yesterday’s gunshots, this is what we met in the morning, this man was killed and dumped here, we cannot tell who his killers are,” the source told MMI on basis of anonymity. The identity of the deceased is not known.

“He has wounds over his body, we cannot dare go closer. We are scared. Taking a picture is very risky,” our source went on. “After gunshots in the night, it’s either someone is dead or houses have been burned,” he added.

The rate of insecurity is on the rise as the crisis in restive Anglophone regions deepens.
