The University of Maroua has introduced new training programmes for Bachelor’s, professional Master’s, and university certificates this academic year. This marks a significant step towards the institution’s growth and development.

After the establishment of the Higher Teachers’ Training College (ENS), the Higher Institute of the Sahel (ISS), the Faculty of Letters and Social Sciences, and the Faculty of Science, three more faculties have entered their second year of training. These include the Faculty of Economics and Management, the Faculty of Law and Political Science, and the Institute of Mines and Petroleum Industries, located in Kaele.

Following the appointment and installation of their officials on January 9, 2015, these new faculties officially opened their doors. Since mid-January, students in the Faculty of Economics and Management have been receiving both classical and professional training in management science. Plans are underway to introduce a doctoral program to meet the demands of businesses and academic research.

The Faculty of Law and Political Science has also launched a two-year pre-undergraduate cycle in Law and Economics. This year, Bachelor’s and Doctorate programs have been introduced, with a focus on incorporating regional specificities into academic training.

A key innovation this year is however, the launch of a Design Engineering programme at the Institute of Mines and Petroleum Industries.
