Newborn picked from bush in Banga Bakundu is doing well, sources

A newborn baby was discovered in a bush in Banga Bakundu in the South West region on Friday, sources have told Mimi Mefo Info.

The mother whose name we got as Germaine is said to have dropped the baby in the bush shortly after giving birth.

“She is a young 17-year-old girl. We only found the child in the bush four days after. Imagine what this war can do, ” a source in the area said.

The baby is healthy and safe, Mimi Mefo Info has learnt.

The Anglophone Crisis which has claimed over 3,000 lives and displaced over one million people has had a toll on young girls and women.

Majority of them have not been able to go to school since the crisis escalated in 2016.
