Penitentiary authorities at the Kondengui Principal Prison in Yaounde have threatened to sanction any inmate found in possession of a mobile phone and other prohibited objects and substances. Among the said sanctions, defaulters will be chained for 15 days in a cell. Many have called out the authorities, citing the move as an attempt to clam down on those detained within the context of the Anglophone crisis.
