Santa:
Amba Fighters Storm sand depot, trash labourers, abduct owner

A group of Amba fighters are said to have stormed a sand depot in Akum village, Santa subdivision, Mezam division of the North West region April I. During the attack, the Amba boys are said to have trashed labourers and abducted the owner of the sand depot.

The amba boys are said to have stormed the place asking for random levies which they have enforced on sand dealers.

A source told MMI that, “on their arrival the boss was not around and they workers tried to defend their interest. The amba boys got the main worker well beaten. They almost killed him asking if he has changed, on pretext that he leaves beside a military Barack at mile 90″ .

Another local lamented that: “I’m in trouble with both the military and the Amba fighters because I work in the village and live beside a military barack. Both camps think I’m working as a spy for each other, so when I tried to defend myself they asked me if I’ve changed? And I responded, changed from what? And they started beating me. I could not understand and all I could say is that they should kill me.

“They had an explosive and were threatening to denotate it on me. They other workers called the boss who came there immediately from town and when he tried to explain he was taken away ” .
The owner of the sand depot was later released but did not say what had happened with him while in the wild , a source stated.
