Teachers have remained divided as to whether to suspend their strike action which had been on for five weeks or not. While a communiqué has circulated on social media platforms announcing the suspension of the strike, some teachers have held on saying, they would only effect the suspension when government promises take effect.
At least two persons including a soldier have died in a deadly road accident today along the Bafoussam-Douala highway. The incident involved a motorbike which had on board four passengers. The motorbike was damaged beyond recognition by a truck. The two other persons injured passengers are currently receiving medical attention.
Reports from Buea, in the South West region say a pregnant woman today perished in a fire outbreak. According to testimonies, the fire was caused by a candle she had lit and placed by her bedside after power outage.
The Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reforms, Joseph Le has today handed the integration file of late Hamidou to his wife. The Minister also extended the Head of State’s message of condolence to the late teacher’s family following his unfortunate passing away. Hamidou died after serving for 10 years without a salary.
Health Minister Dr Manaouda Malachie has ordered that for two cold rooms at the warehouse of the Expanded Programme on Immunization, EPI, in the Far North region to be replaced within 72hours. This, he says, is to ensure vaccination continues in the region. Dr Manaouda gave the order while visiting the structure. It was consumed by fire on March 20, 2022.
Parents of conjoined twins, Elizabeth and Mary Akwe offered thanksgiving in church over the weekend for the successful separation of the babies. The kids born as conjoined were separated in Turkey thanks to financial aid from President Paul Biya and wife Chantal.
