Ngaoundere: 5 injured as commercial motorcycles riders clash with security forces

At least five persons are receiving medical attention following a violent confrontation between commercial motorcycle riders and security forces in Ngaoundere, Adamawa region of Cameroon Monday March 16th.

According to the riders, they are standing against abusive extortion of money by both the police and other military men.

“Yesterday, the security forces confiscated hundreds of motorcycles. How do they expect us to feed our families? ” One of the irate riders questions.

It took the intervention of administrative officials to calm the situation.

Authorities insist that that commercial motorcycle activities should not exceed 8pm as a means of limiting insecurity.
